چکیده
Objective: The aim of the current study was to evaluate efficacy addition zirconium oxide (ZrO2), titanium oxide(TiO2), and silica (SiO2) nanoparticles cold-cured soft liner on adhesion Candida albicans (CA). Material andMethods: Fifty-four patients had been selected divided into three groups according modification linerwith ZrO2, TiO2, SiO2 (18 each of). Each patient received maxillary complete denture having threecavities, cavities were lined using cold cured modified with different concentration (0%, 3%, 7%) ofmetal nanoparticles. On days 14 28, swaps taken out from relining site immediately cultured forfungal evaluation. number colonies counted, data collected explored for normality Shapiro-Wilktest, logarithmic transformation CA count performed. Repeated one-way ANOVA used followed byTukey HSD. Independent-t test compare between counts at periods. Results: adhesionwas significantly decreased by TiO2 in comparison control group, alsothe antifungal coverage increased (P<0.005). highest wasidentified group while showed lowest (P <0.001). Conclusion: Additionof nanoparticles; is an effective method reducing adhesion.KEYWORDSAntifungal agent; albicans; Denture liners; Nanoparticles.

Antifungal Activity of Denture Soft Lining Material Modified by Silver Nanoparticles—A Pilot Study
Soft liner materials in oral cavity environments are easily colonized both by fungi and dental plaque. These factors are the cause of mucosal infections. The microorganism that most frequently colonizes soft liner materials is Candida albicans. Colonization occurs on the surface of materials and within materials. A solution to this problem might involve modification of soft liner materials with...

Long-term soft denture lining (LTSDL) materials are used to alleviate the trauma associated with wearing complete dentures. Despite their established clinical efficacy, the use of LTSDLs has been limited due to the unfavorable effects of the oral environment on some of their mechanical and performance characteristics. The unresolved issue of LTSDL colonization by Candida albicans is particularl...
